Designing and printing a bike mirror

What I needed didn't exist, so I made it

Over the years, I've bought at least four of these Origin 8 handlebars. They're attractive, comfortable, versatile, and cheap.

But they have an unusually small internal diameter, which makes finding mirrors that fit very difficult. Most all are made for bars with a larger inner diameter.

And also, most bike mirrors are as ugly as homemade sin, or so I'm told.

So, armed with my new Bambu printer, I set about creating one that solved both of those problems.

The mirror side.
The mirror side.
The front side. The logo was just for fun.
The front side. The logo was just for fun.

The model is on MakerWorld now.

For the print, I used this nice bone ivory PETG. PETG is a must for something like this, that needs to be strong and UV-resistant. I used this mirror, although most any 3" mirror should more or less work.
